365 Tip for Hybrid Working: Set Work Hours & Location

Rolling out: Outlook on the Web and MS Teams

In the hybrid haze, do you ever wonder where your colleague is working today? I’ve lost count of how many times I point to someone’s profile picture in Teams to see the time zone and hours ahead or behind. Useful in itself, but Microsoft 365 is now also location-aware. We’ve always been able to check schedules for availability, but this feature is a bit extra and lets you be more specific about yours. Are you remote or in the office today? And do you work different hours on different days?

Spotted this in my Teams desktop app today.

Click your profile picture top right and change your location for a given day or period. Shows for colleagues when they point to your profile picture. I like it!

NOTE: Schedule for work hours and location set in Outlook on the Web at Settings > View all Outlook settings > Calendar.
